Deep End

There is one thing that I’ve loved ever since I could remember, swimming. Now for me there’s only one way to get into a swimming pool. Not using the ladder, not tip toeing in the shallow end; for me I think you gotta go to the deep end and jump in. Both feet. No turning back. No matter how cold or dark the water is, the best and fastest way to get acclimated is jumping in with both feet.

Now without me knowing I’ve also taken this philosophy into the rest of my life. Last week I started a new job. And you guessed it, I jumped in the deep end with both feet. Sure, there was a sink or swim moment, but guess what, I’m swimming not sinking. And I always have. Never have I jumped in the deep end and not survive, that’s pretty good odds.

Are you currently struggling to make a decision? Standing on the edge of the water wanting to jump in? There’s no better time than now to jump in. So walk to the deep end and jump in with both feet. Even if you sink to the bottom like Squint in The Sandlot, I think he comes out on top! So make that jump.
