Stand for What’s Right

“Always stand up for what is right, even if that means that I am the only one standing”

Did I mention when I started writing these post and this Life Objective that these things are not just empty words on the page. Most of these are ones that I have actually struggled with for years, that is why I had to write them down; to remind myself of my downfalls and where to improve. This one is no different. Stand up for what is right, we now have generations of “Christians” that have not done this. Even if that means that I am the only one standing, this is what we fear the most. To be different.

But being different, isn’t that what we are called to do? I challenge you to read through the New Testament and not get this idea. We are called to be foreigners, aliens, we do not belong to this world. So what are we so afraid of? We are already supposed to be standing when others are bowing down to idols. Ask Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego from the Book of Daniel. They were thrown into the burning furnace because they stood up for their faith and did not bow down, they stayed standing for what they believed. Even when thousands bowed down, they stood. But check out the story in Daniel Chapter 3. When they were thrown into the furnace, God did not leave them, in fact he sent an angel to be with them. So you see, even if you are standing “alone” God and his army are still standing right behind you. So what is stopping you now?

Standing for what is right can look like many different things. Be the one not to laugh at that joke. Be the one to stand up for the kid being bullied. Don’t buy into the mob mentality, but be set apart, stand for what is right. As Christians today, you may say this is harder to do because everyone has freedom of speech, unless you are a Christian. But today more than every, we need to stand up for what is right, and you will most likely be the only one standing. We need to stop giving up ground, not just for us, but for our future generations. You think it is bad now, it will only get worse unless we make a change now.

This is a call to arms. A call to stand for what is right. Even when you are the only one standing, but remember you will have an army of heavenly host behind you. There is never a bad time to stand for what is right. Even if you are the only one standing. One voice, one stand can change the world.

  1. Even as a non-believer, I really enjoyed your post because of the underlying message. I am a loner, but I refuse to give in and be like other people. Even if that means I am alone in what I believe in. I honestly believe that even a small action of one person can unleash a chain reaction, like Rosa Parks (who stood up by not standing up). Again, great post, really enjoyed it 🙂
