Drudgery

While reading My Utmost for His Highest by Oswald Chambers this week, one word has stuck with me. Drudgery. While this was written about a hundred years ago, it still is true even today.

Drudgery is one of the finest test to determine the genuineness of our character. Drudgery is work that is far removed from anything we think of as ideal work. It is the utterly hard, menial, tiresome, and dirty work.

Did I just describe your Monday through Friday? It is how we excel in Drudgery that will truly make a difference. And I think the first step is not to think of it as drudgery…  Don’t waste any moment, any opportunity, any conversation. Especially at work. Monday through Friday is where we spend most of our waking hours.

Seize the day. Win over drudgery! If we tested your character, how would it stack up?
