Two Years

Last week I had a notification pop up to congratulate me on two years of this blog. It’s hard to believe that it’s already been two years. Here are some things that have stood out to me the past two years.

Life happens way too fast. About a year and a half ago I became a father. This has literally changed everything. I love all of the many milestones! Everyone I meet tells me not to blink, because they’ll be in college before you know it. And I’m starting to think they’re right! I’m trying to soak in every second of these sweet little moments.

Life is too short to be unhappy. About two years ago I started a new job. I realized that I felt stuck and didn’t see my future with that company. So I quit complaining and found something different. I miss the friendships and relationships that I had there, but I know that finding a new job is what I was supposed to do. I have been a lot happier since then.

Travel as much as you can. Hemingway says that “it is the journey that matters”. And I would add that travel is when you will find the most about yourself. Traveling allows you to get out of your comfort zone and try something you may have never done before. So get out there, travel! Find you!

DIY. Have you ever built something from scratch? Or saw a project through, cradle to grave? There’s something rewarding in building something yourself. Start small. Never underestimate yourself.

Everyone can make a difference. Whether you want to believe it or not, someone is watching you. And more is caught than taught. So what message are you sending? Are you building others up? Everyone has a story to share and something to pass on.

My goal for this blog has been and will continue to be to positively determine the direction of future generations. That means we have to lead by example. We’re not perfect, so they can learn from our failures as well as our success. What kind of legacy have you left these past two years?

  1. Everyone can make a difference but so few try, they only have time for themselves. Your blog in an indication that your are trying to make a difference, in doing so you will reap the rewards for your efforts..
